Vintage Iridescent Amber Glass Lampshade with Frilled Rim

I looooove the shape of this old glass lampshade and the warm amber glass gives off such a cosy feel when lit. The iridescent surface shines beautifully with the dramatic frilled fluted rim giving this vintage lampshade plenty of character.

Its rounded tulip or hurricane silhouette. is frrom around the 1970s, although its precise age and country of manufacture are unknown. It has a similar vibe to the French VIANNE style pieces.

The iridescence reflects light beautifully and looks lovely alongside warm wood, brass and other pieces of amber or marigold glass. ( like the Jeanette amber cups we have in the shop too)

Condition

Very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks found.

Light age-related surface marks and minor wear are present to the iridescent lustre finish. These are mostly noticeable on close inspection, are difficult to capture in photographs and do not detract from the overall display.

A faint circumferential line is visible within the surface finishh and appears to be associated with manufacture or the application of the lustre rather than damage. One small enclosed air bubble is also present within the glass from manufacture.

Care:

Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and soaking to protect the aged lustre finish.



No lamp holder, bulb or electrical components are supplied. This item is sold solely as a lampshade and has not been tested or offered for candle use.


This fragile vintage shade will be carefully wrapped, cushioned and boxed for its next chapter.
