Pair of Pink Patchwork Onyx Marble Eggs

Obviously, when I spotted a pair of pink crystal eggs tucked away in my favourite Antique shop, I was never going to leave them behind.

Polished sections of blush pink, milky cream, white and warm honey-coloured stone are joined together in a geometric patchwork design. The natural banding and mineral variations means every side looks different. There is some gorgeous banding in the natural stone.

These are commonly described as a pink onyx marble. But they are actually a banded calcite crystal. Theyre not labeled as vintage because its really difficult to date these. they often were found through the 70's & 80's decor. Finding them in a vintage shop is part of their story, but it doesn’t prove their age, so I’ve described them as pre-owned rather than vintage.

They make a gorgeous and eye catching pink display for a shelf, desk, dressing table or your crystal collection ( of course)


Condition:
Very good pre-owned condition overall, they still have a glossy polished finish. Natural stone variations as expected, visible construction joins and areas of slight surface texture are present. One egg has a small surface pit/nick beside a banded section, together with shallow grooving along parts of the lower joins. The other has a small area of textural variation at a mineral transition but presents more smoothly overall. No open or structural cracks found.

Care 
Clean only with a soft, dry cloth. Calcite is relatively soft and sensitive to acids, so avoid vinegar, acidic cleaners, abrasives, soaking and impact.
